What mobile detailing does well
The obvious advantage is convenience — the car never leaves your driveway, your garage, or your office parking lot. The less obvious advantages:
- Less wear on the vehicle. No drive to the shop, no waiting in their queue, no parking-lot risk.
- You see the work. The car is right there. You can ask questions, point out a panel, look over the wheels before payment.
- Better fit for high-value cars. Owners of cars that are inconvenient to drop off (single-vehicle households, cars that don't get daily use, cars worth more than the shop's insurance) often prefer mobile.
- More flexibility on scheduling. Early morning, late afternoon, Saturday — mobile schedules tend to be more accommodating.
What a fixed-bay shop does well
Shops have advantages too, especially for certain services:
- Controlled lighting. Multi-stage paint correction benefits from a properly lit bay. We do a lot of one-step enhancement polish mobile, but heavy correction work is genuinely better in a shop.
- Climate control. Ceramic coating application benefits from a temperature- and humidity-controlled environment.
- Specialized equipment. Steam extraction setups, large-format compressors, paint depth gauges — shops can run heavier equipment.
Cost
Mobile and shop pricing are closer than people assume. Mobile saves on shop overhead but pays for travel time and self-contained water/power equipment. In the Brentwood and Franklin market, mobile and shop pricing are typically within 5–10% of each other for the same package.

Request a Quote →When mobile makes more sense
- Maintenance details and full details — the work happens on your driveway with no compromise.
- Sealant and sprayable ceramic application — done well outdoors with the right conditions.
- Interior details — the environment matters less.
- One-step paint enhancement — manageable mobile, especially under shade.
- Multi-car households where dropping cars off creates real logistical pain.
When a shop is the better call
- Heavy multi-stage paint correction.
- Full-vehicle ceramic coating with strict cure-time requirements.
- Restoration work on a car with significant paint damage.
- Paint Protection Film installation (almost always a shop service due to dust control).
For most owners in the Brentwood and Franklin market, the right answer is mobile for routine work, and a partnered shop for the rare heavy-correction or PPF job. Tell us what your car needs and we'll point you to the right format.
